LinkedIn has really spent a lot of time in enhancing it’s product - I like it making it easier to find contacts; Like the updates, it has become more relevant over time; Great suggestions in interesting projects (& job opportunities, ahem!).

But I absolutely hate the huge deluge of emails I get from them… but that’s nothing new.

I wanted to talk about LinkedIn mobile app - It is a sluggish as a snail. I get a notification on my iPhone, but I can never get the app to show it to me. Even if I try to refresh the app, it takes ages for the new activity to show up and for me to view it.

It shows me new connections, but it doesn’t make it easy for me to click on the connections and write them a hello note: Typically the connections are bundled together in one notification (the bundling is also very strange BTW), and if you click on the notification it takes you to your connection list not sorted by recent ones. Very annoying.

I am getting very tempted to just completely stop all notifications and emails from them, and just check it myself once in a while.

There are two new versions of Windows, called Windows 8, for regular PCs and some tablets, and Windows RT, for cheaper tablets and laptops (not to mention Windows 8 Pro, which adds corporate features). Each edition has two environments, which Microsoft calls the desktop and Windows 8. In the Windows 8 environment, you can run only Windows 8 apps from the Windows Store. The Windows 8 version of Windows runs both desktop apps and Windows 8 apps; Windows RT runs only Windows 8 apps. Older apps’ icons can show up in both the desktop and the Windows 8 environment, but Windows 8 apps appear only in the Windows 8 environment.
